but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 ESV

One of the good things about Christmas is that there are lots of events surrounding the birth of the Lord that if

Meditated upon, can keep us strengthened till the day of the Lord. The Lord said in Luke 21:36 ESV, “But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

OUR theme tells us that “they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength” The Greek word translated as wait is “qavah”. This means Intertwining, to bind together. The more we reflect on Christ, meditating on the events surrounding His birth, we are staying awake in prayers,

the more we intertwine, and align our thoughts with His thoughts. Hence build strength needed to escape and be able to stand before our Lord.

That is why the Christmas season is not only about eating and drinking, but also a good opportunity to reflect on God's goodness. Luke 21:34 NIV says, “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.”

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO WAIT ON THE LORD AND BE STRENGTHENED IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

THANK YOU JESUS!
