Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

John 3:14-15 NIV

In numbers 21, just as the Israelites in the desert were told to set their eyes on the bronze snake and not on themselves, or on the snake that bit them. In the same way, we should set our eyes on Jesus, as our righteousness and not on our own righteousness or sins. For “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV)

What makes us children of God is not that we stopped sinning, it is because we received the Spirit of sonship. Romans 8:15 TPT says, “ And you did not receive the “spirit of religious duty,” leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!”

We have full acceptance because we are in Christ and not because we stopped sinning. That is why we should set our eyes on Christ and not on ourselves for the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. So to walk away from sins involves walking in the spirit, that is to set our eyes on Christ as our righteousness, seeing who we are in the spirit and not in the flesh. Then the Holy Spirit confirms it by producing holy desires and good works. “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30 NKJV)

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO BE CONSCIOUS OF CHRIST AND NOT OF OUR SINS IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

THANK YOU JESUS !
