DO NOT LET YOUR PAST HOLD YOU DOWN

For at one time you were not God’s people, but now you are. At one time you knew nothing of God’s mercy, because you hadn’t received it yet, but now you are drenched with it!

1 Peter 2:10 TPT

In the Genealogy of Jesus as narrated in the gospel of Mathew chapter 1, 4 women were distinct. Bathsheba, who committed adultery with David, Tamar the daughter- in-Law of Judah, who slept with him. Rahab, the harlot from Jericho, and Ruth, the Moabite. Though their past were not morally good, they were all listed in the genealogy of a Holy God.

Beloved, God has set our life right in Christ irrespective of our past mistakes. Let us not keep dwelling in our past, instead set our eyes on the brightness of our future. St. Paul said, “I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,” (Philippians 3:13 NKJV)

In Christ, old things have passed away, we are forever holy and blameless in God's sight. Let us let go of the past and embrace the good that lies ahead.

Colossians 1:21-22 NKJV says, “And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight— “
