DO NOT MARRY FOR WHAT YOU WANT

Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”

Genesis 2:18 NLT

Marriage should be based on what God wants and not on what we want. Marriages fail in most cases because many marry for the wrong purposes, hence giving the enemy a foothold in their marital life. God is the one who instituted marriage, not us. Genesis 2:18 NLT says, “ Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”

Every woman is born to be a helper , she does not need any special qualifications or skills for this, it is inbuilt in her. That is why she should be content, not desiring anything in marriage except to fulfill God's purpose and not her own purpose. A man should also be content in marriage not desiring nothing from a woman except a help suitable for him.

Adam was not lonely when God gave him Eve, He was complete in all things not desiring anything, but God saw that he was alone, and needed a helper. That is why in Genesis 2:23-24 NLT Adam said, ““At last!” .. “This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’” This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.””

God uses marriages to illustrate a divine union between Christ and us, His church.

Any marriage based on God's purpose will never fail for it gives God glory and God is faithful. Always remember marriage is not hard only if it is based on God's own purpose and not ours. Psalms 89:21 NKJV says, “With whom My hand shall be established; Also My arm shall strengthen him.”
