You do not want sacrifices and offerings; you do not ask for animals burned whole on the altar or for sacrifices to take away sins. Instead, you have given me ears to hear you,
Psalm 40:6 GNT
I like how the Message translates it, “Doing something for you, bringing something to you— that’s not what you’re after. Being religious, acting pious— that’s not what you’re asking for. You’ve opened my ears so I can listen.” (Psalms 40:6 MSG)
God has given us the ear to hear him. How many of us listen to hear from him while we pray? I have come to realize from my experience walking with God, that He prefers that we listen to hear Him when we pray, than our unending prayer list. Isaiah 65:24 NIV says “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear. So the Lord does not want our mundane way of praying to Him without listening to hear from.
Proverbs 4:20-22 GNT says, “My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen to my words. Never let them get away from you. Remember them and keep them in your heart. They will give life and health to anyone who understands them.” There is life and health in hearing from.God. So, it is better to hear from God while praying, than blasting with our unending prayers.
In Matthew 13, the disciples of Jesus were asking Him why He spoke to the people in parables, He said to them,, “The knowledge about the secrets of the Kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.”(Matthew 13:11 GNT) It is our inheritance and benefits to hear from God, to receive heavenly insights! That is eternal life, that is how we receive all Jesus purchased for us. So whenever you are praying and the Spirit tries to talk to you, stop immediately and listen.
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO HEAR FROM GOD IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
