DO YOU STILL REMEMBER?

Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?

Matthew 16:9 NIV

In the preceding verses of our theme, the Lord asked the apostles to be careful about the yeast of the Pharisees. They thought it was because they didn't bring bread. That was why, in our theme verse, He asked them . “Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?” That shows how easily we forget the good deeds of the Lord.

God encountered such severally with the Israelites in the desert. On one occasion, they asked? “True, he struck the rock, and water gushed out, streams flowed abundantly, but can he also give us bread? Can he supply meat for his people?” (Psalms 78:20 NIV) If they had remembered the good deeds, they could have said it the other way round; If God could give water in the desert, He would definitely give bread and meat.

When David encountered Goliath, His mindset was, “ The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” ( 1 Samuel 17:37 NIV)

Beloved, regardless of the busy situation in the world today, let us always remember how Jesus broke through for us and write them down as anchors in times of trouble. That is why the Lord wants us to be conscious of His finished work of the cross, “ Do this in remembrance of me”. For if God Can save us even when we were dead in sin, How about now we are reconciled with Him?
