ENDURE AS A GOOD SOLDIER
You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
II Timothy 2:3 NKJV
Let us give thanks to God, who has qualified us to be His triumphant soldiers on earth. II Corinthians 2:14 NKJV says, “ Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”
Let us not lose heart over our trials.
Remember our heavenly Father is Jehovah, the Lord of Hosts—the Commander of Heaven’s armies. There are no weaklings in His army. He trains His children for war, for through us, He diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
The psalmist declares in Psalms 144:1 NKJV, “Blessed be the Lord my Rock,Who trains my hands for war,And my fingers for battle—” Isaiah 49:2 NKJV says, “ And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword;In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me,And made Me a polished shaft;In His quiver He has hidden Me.”
When Israel came out of Egypt, God did not lead them by the shortest route. Exodus 13 tells us that He deliberately led them through a path of preparation because He knew that encountering war too soon could cause them to turn back toward Egypt.
As God's soldiers, we should endure trials for our daily package is loaded with victories. The battle belongs to Him, our duty is to fight the good fight of faith. I Timothy 6:12 NKJV says, “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
