ENDURE IN JOYFUL HOPE

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

‭1 John 3:2 NIV‬

Though we are now children of God, we might still go through trials as unbelievers do because what we will be has not yet been revealed. But we will be free from all trials when Christ appears, for we shall be like him, because as He is now, so are we now in this world. ‭Romans 8:23 NKJV‬ says, “Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.”

That is why the Bible says, “Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.” (‭Colossians 3:2-4 NLT‬) WE think and see ourselves as heavenly beings on earth, we set our eyes on Christ, as He is sin free, healthy and prosperous, so are we now on this earth.

This way, though we might go through similar moments as unbelievers, we live as those who are more than conquerors and not those struggling to conquer. We learn to endure knowing that our real life has not been revealed yet. Those hardships, sinful desires, etc, we encounter are not real us, but when Christ appears our real life appears and sorrow and sighing shall flee. ‭1 John 3:3 NIV‬ says that, “ All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.”

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO ENDURE WITH JOYFUL HOPE OF THE LORD’S COMING IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
