And they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’

Ezekiel 36:35 ESV

Many things can be learned from the wilderness experience of the Israelites.

In Deuteronomy 8:3 ESV, Moses said to the Israelites, “And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”

God gave strict instructions for the amount of manna to be gathered, those that gathered more discovered that the extra rot and fill with worms. Those who gathered less, had enough for their families. When God told them to gather extra on the sixth day against the sabbath day, the extra did not rot. When God instructed them to keep a jar of manna as a testimony throughout the generation, they did and it never rotten. (Exodus 16)

This shows that it was not their power or the nature of the manna that preserved it, rather the Word of God. Our sustenance is not from our flawless performance, our haves or have-nots, but rather our obedience to God's words. There is a life in the word of God, that is the life we were born with, incorruptible life. Just as we are conscious of this corruptible human life, we should also be conscious of our incorruptible life, by using the word of God as our mirror.

Our duty is to live through our finances, marriages, health and wellbeing with the Word of God and enjoy Eden's incorruptible life. Let us rely on what the word says about us rather than on our earthly circumstances.

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO LIVE BY GOD'S WORDS IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

THANK YOU JESUS!
