ENJOY EDEN'S LIFESTYLE BY OBEDIENCE TO HIS WORDS VII

And they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’

Ezekiel 36:35 ESV

The Lord asked Phillip, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? (John 14:9 ESV) The Lord is telling Phillip that he should know Him for He has been with him for a long time. The Greek word translated for know in this verse is ginosko, which means knowledge based on intimate relationship, experiential knowledge.

Jesus is our inheritance, we can only know Jesus, our inheritance by spending time with Him in His words. That is how we receive our inheritance. “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. (John 17:3 ESV) Again He used the same Greek word translated for know, “ginosko.”

In Mark 3:14, when Jesus chose the apostles, He had them spend time with Him before sending them out to preach. And when they spoke before the Sanhedrin, they saw Christ in them.

Acts 4:13 ESV says, “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.”

2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV says,”And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” No wonder the Lord said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.” (John 5:19 ESV)
