they shall not hunger or thirst, neither scorching wind nor sun shall strike them, for he who has pity on them will lead them, and by springs of water will guide them.
Isaiah 49:10 ESV
Our theme verse does not promise that we will always have abundance in this fallen world; rather, it assures us that we will not hunger or thirst. It does not say that the scorching sun or wind will not come, but it declares that they will not strike us. This is not by our performance or strength, but by His mercy, because we are led by the One who has compassion on us.
That is why a Christian life is a life of rest,
Hebrews 4:11 encourages us to labor to enter God’s rest. The "labor" is not physical effort, but spiritual diligence by being rooted in the word of God, aligning our thoughts with God's words through meditation. Choosing faith over feelings by speaking what God has said, even when life says otherwise.
Let's never look at our troubles and conclude that God has forsaken us, for he is leading us by His mercy. Exodus 15:13 NLT says, “With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed. In your might, you guide them to your sacred home.’
Let us trust His track record.
WE RECEIVE TODAY THE GRACE TO ENTER GOD'S REST, REFUSE DOUBT AND STRIVING, ALIGN OUR THOUGHTS WITH HIS WORDS, AND TRUST IN HIS FINISHED WORK OF HIS LOVE IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
