GIVE HIM SONGS OF PRAISE II

He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.

Psalm 40:3 ESV

Beloved, are you giving God new songs, with words of praise for what He has done. Psalm 45:1 ESV says, “My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.” It is through these words of praise that we carry out judgment written against the enemy camp. Psalm 149:6, 9 ESV says, “Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands, to execute on them the judgment written! This is honor for all his godly ones. Praise the Lord!”

For instance, the preceding verses of our text says, “ I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.” So during trials, instead of yielding to the dictates of the senses, you declare the work of His glory.

You start by saying, He drew me out of the financial, marital, health crises etc, and has set my feet upon a rock! This is how we receive our victory through the word of our mouth. Isaiah 49:2 ESV says, “He made my mouth like a sharp sword;” Make it a habit of professing His words daily, make music of them. Psalms 119:54 TPT says, “As I journey through life, I put all your statutes to music; they become the theme of my joyous songs.”
