IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE WORD AND NOTHING CAN KICK AGAINST YOU VII

Words from the wise are like sharp goads. When these sayings are written down and saved, they can be used to guide people, just as a shepherd uses a sharp stick to make his sheep go the right way.

Ecclesiastes 12:11 ERV

I like how our theme says, “When these sayings are written down and saved, they can be used to guide people, just as a shepherd uses a sharp stick to make his sheep go the right way. “ Just as a shepherd leads his flock to the right paths of life, using the goads, the same way, our good Shepherd leads us to the right paths using His Words. David said about the Lord, “He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.” (Psalms 23:3 NLT)

That is why He wants us to write His words down and save them. Every encounter we have with the Lord, whether intense, good or bad, needs to be written down and saved. It might not mean anything to us, but it definitely does to the Lord, who uses them to guide us to the right paths of life. In Isaiah 48:17 NLT, God said, “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow.”

The Lord told Jeremiah, “.. Write down for the record everything I have said to you, Jeremiah.” (Jeremiah 30:2 NLT) Imagine if the prophets and disciples did not write the Bible, how can we be guided to the right path? 2 Timothy 3:16 NLT says, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”
