OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN

INVEST IN YOUR UNION WITH CHRIST IV

Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.

Matthew 6:20 NLT

Every child of God loves God, for love of God has been poured into our hearts at birth. Even non Christians still long for God, they seek that help from deity. In Acts 17, when St. Paul visited Athens, the people did not only have many shrines but they also had one built for an unknown God. Though we all desire God in our lives the issue is that most times our desires are inordinate.

We find more comfort on the created rather than on the creator. But God wants us to rely on our union with Christ rather than on our haves or have-nots. Remember the response the prodigal son’s father gave to his older son, “ ‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.”(Luke 15:31 NIV) Our sufficiency should be from our union with Christ. “ I am with you always till the end of time”

Though Jesus was with the apostles in the same boat during the storm, they were still terrified that they would perish. Mark 4:38 ESV says, “But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” On the other hand, Jesus was not there when Lazarus died. When He arrived afterwards, In John 11:21 ESV, Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”

LET US INVEST IN OUR UNION WITH CHRIST.

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO MAKE OUR UNION WITH CHRIST A PRIORITY IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

THANK YOU JESUS!
