KNOW YOUR IDENTITY

since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;

1 Peter 1:23 ESV

If a golden vessel, wooden and iron vessels were exposed to air, water and termites. The iron vessel might rust from contact with rain and oxygen. The wooden ones might be destroyed by termites or rain, but the golden one is not. Suppose the golden vessel does not know this, it might think it will rust like the iron ones or even be eaten up by termites.

Beloved, we are in a fallen world, however, we are not subject to its fallenness because we are born of imperishable word of God.”since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;” Without the knowledge of this, we might believe we are perishable like other humans.

That is why Romans 12:2 ESV says,

“ Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Renew your mind daily with the word of God, and walk in the newness of life.
