LET GO OF SLAVE MINDSET

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

Romans 8:15 NIV

Do not have a slave mindset. Our theme tells us that we did not receive a spirit of slavery, but rather the Spirit of sonship. The Lord said, “Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.”(John 8:35 NIV) This means that a slave's health and wellbeing, marriages, finances etc, are not guaranteed. Their lives are up and down, a roller coaster kind of life.

Whereas a son's life shines brighter and brighter like the morning Sun for it is sure-footed in the house of God. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit so our salvation is not leaky. Psalms 92:12-14 NIV says, “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green,”

Though we are children of God, we could still be subject to this world's roller-coaster life, if we do not let go of slave mentality by renewing our minds with the word of God. Galatians 4:1, NIV says, “as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.”
