Look, I am sending you out as sheep among wolves. So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves.

Matthew 10:16 NLT

Just as the apostles in our theme, we are sent as weak humans in this fallen world. This is not to harm us but instead to humble us, for we learn how to depend on God for everything. The children of Israel lived in the desert for 40 years. This was not to harm them but to humble them by learning how to depend on God for everything. Moses said about it, ” ... .He fed you with manna in the wilderness, a food unknown to your ancestors. He did this to humble you and test you for your own good. He did all this so you would never say to yourself, ‘I have achieved this wealth with my own strength and energy.”(Deuteronomy 8:16-17 NLT)

OUR Lord Jesus Christ was not an exemption to this. Philippians 2:7-8 NLT

says, “Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.” In the same way, we are to give up our human privileges and depend on God. That is to “ So be as shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves. “

Beloved, all our worries and fighting one another are not necessary. Instead we should learn how to rely on God for everything. That is where our humility comes from, and that is what God wants. We have Christ in us, that means all we need to live through this fallen world is inside us. 2 Corinthians 4:7 NLT says, “We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.”

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO LET GO OUR HUMAN PRIVILEGES AND LIVE HUMBLY AND JOYFULLY IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

THANK YOU JESUS!
