LIVE BEYOND YOUR SENSES

Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.

Romans 8:12 NIV

Just as a low fuel light in the car is just a sign to refuel the car, but does not refuel the car. In the same way, our senses were given to us to live on earth and not to live by it alone, for they accomplish nothing, only the Spirit does. The Lord said in John 6:63 NKJV, “ It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”

Senses can alert us to some feelings of sickness, hardships etc. But they cannot solve the trouble, only the Spirit does. Live by the Spirit. Romans 8:11 NKJV says, “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

That is why we cannot afford to live by our senses alone for there is no life in it.

Romans 8:13 NKJV says, “For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.” How do we live by the Spirit? Through His words, His words are Spirit and life. Psalms 119:50 NKJV

Says, “my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life.”
