Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
-Matthew 4:4 NIV
In John 17:13 CEV, the Lord said “I am on my way to you. But I say these things while I am still in the world, so my followers will have the same complete joy that I do.” The Lord is not of the world just as we are not of the world, and He is going back to the Father, our Father, while we are here in this godless world.
As a just God, He did not give us perishables possessions as our source of joy, but He gave us imperishable, His words so we can have the same joy in this world as He has in heaven. Psalm 119:111 KJV says, “Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: For they are the rejoicing of my heart.”
Remember we have the same origin as the Lord, so He wants us to know through His words that though we are here in this godless world, the Father is pleased with us and loves us the same way He loves Him. This is remarkable. He wants us to know that despite our weaknesses and challenges, we fulfill all that the Father requires of us , same as christ. No wonder Psalms 119:50 CEV says, “When I am hurting, I find comfort in your promise that leads to life.”
Think about this; we are imperishable because sin, the chief cause of decay, corruption and perishing in our lives has lost it's power over us. We are now under grace which works through righteousness to life. Is this not enough to keep us leaping with ecstatic and bubbling joy all day? Isaiah 12:3 NIV says, “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.”
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO LIVE BY THE WORD OF GOD DAILY IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
