having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.
Colossians 2:14 NIV
In the trial of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a lower court is trying him on a repealed law, even though a higher court has already set him free. He refused to put in a defense, stating that where there is no law, no charge, then no defense . We can draw some spiritual insights from this in resisting the enemy in this fallen world.
Our theme verse says “having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.” The enemy cannot prosecute us on a canceled charge, repealed law. Where there is no record of charges against us, there is no case to defend, case closed. Besides a higher law, the law of Spirit of life has already set us free from the lower law, the law of sin and death.
Let us not bother arguing over the enemies’ firing darts, his lies, deceptions, making us feel there is something else we need to do, to put up a defense. There is nothing else to do except to raise our shield of faith. Romans 8:1-2 NIV says, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” You are God's own righteousness in Christ, and nothing can change that, is a gift from God. Stand firm in this truth .
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO WALK IN GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
