The wicked are waiting to destroy me, but I will ponder your statutes.
Psalms 119:95 NIV
The wicked in our theme Verse could be seen as all those things in this fallen world we are vulnerable to. This could be sickness ,hardships, depression etc. Our theme tells us not to set our minds on them, but on God's promises. Keep pondering His words. The proceeding verse says, “To all perfection I see a limit, but your commands are boundless. ”(Psalms 119:96 NIV)
Sin and distress have a limit, they are passing away because they have passed away, we should not treasure them in our hearts, rather God's promises are boundless. Instead of pondering on those troubles, take them to the height they could not climb, that is walk in His words, and they will fade away. Psalms 37:1-2 NIV says, “Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.”
Mary knows this, for twice it was written in the Bible that she treasured the word of God and pondered them often. Even when the people were astonished at the message of the shepherds, the Bible says, “ But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.”(Luke 2:19 NIV) There were no facts, or AI's on virgin birth she could lay hand on. No googles on what to feed God's son, She only treasured the word and pondered them often.
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO PONDER HIS WORDS AND NOT OUR TROUBLES IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
