REST IN HIS JOY

Returning home, he called all his friends and neighbors together and said, ‘Let’s have a party! Come and celebrate with me the return of my lost lamb. It wandered away, but I found it and brought it home.’ ”

Luke 15:6 TPT

OUR theme verse is taken from the parable of the lost sheep. We can see that though we were the ones that wandered away, our Good Shepherd upon finding us is not only carrying us joyfully on His shoulders, He is also organizing a big joyful party for us when we arrive home! Glory ! This reminds us about what the Bible says about the wedding feast of the Lamb(Revelation 19:9) We have a big party waiting for us in heaven! We have hope.

OUR salvation is the joy of the Lord and we should rest in His joy. Notice that our rescue, trip home and the party are all on Him, our only duty is to rest in His joy. Our rest comes from our absolute trust in Him. “For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!”(Romans 5:10 NIV)

Beloved let us rest in our union with Christ, and not in our sinning less life, our sickness free life or our haves or have-nots. For such will make us appear

as grasshoppers before the giants of this fallen world when we fall short. Hence we lose His joy and our strength. David, despite his wealth and reputation as a man after God's own heart said, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” (Psalms 16:8 NIV)

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO REST IN HIS JOY TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE FATHER IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
