OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN

STAND FIRM IN FAITH

.. If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.’ ”

Isaiah 7:9 NIV

In Mark 11, when the Lord spoke to the fig tree, the leaves did not physically wither right away until the next morning when the apostles saw that the tree withered from the roots up. This scenario helps to understand our new life in Christ. Many are not enjoying eternal life Jesus purchased for them because they are focusing on the leaves instead of the root. They walk by sight and not by faith.

That is why the Lord said in the 22nd verse, “Have faith in God,” That is focus on the root. Christianity is easier if we focus on the root, what God has done than on the leaves, our earthly circumstances. 2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV says, “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Since sin, the root cause of death was exchanged with righteousness, the root of life, we don't fret at tribulations, the leaves we see for Christ have overcome them for us. (John 16:33) We should always expect good irrespective of what we see. Matthew 7:17-18 NIV says, Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO BE FIRM IN FAITH IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

THANK YOU JESUS!
