STAND STRONG IN HIS PEACE

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!

Luke 2:14 ESV

The Greek word translated as peace in our theme verse is “Eirene” meaning to set at one again. The angels were rejoicing that God and man are set at one again, a seamless union! Our troubles are not to destroy us, but for us to live in this consciousness. Psalm 46:1-2 ESV says, “ God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,”

Earth, as a testimony to God's faithfulness, has not given away since creation. Psalm 119:90 ESV says, “Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast.” Imagine waking up one morning and finding out that the earth has given away, or that the mountain moved.

The Psalmist still says not to be afraid, because the very one who made the earth and the mountains is our refuge and strength!.

Beloved, it doesn't matter anymore the troubles we face in our health, finances, marriage etc. For the very One who made the earth and its fullness, including all the cells of our body, is one with us, our Immanuel. Romans 5:1 ESV says,

“ Since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” The Lord did not promise us a crisis free life, rather He gave us His peace.
