STAND STRONG IN HIS PEACE II

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!

Luke 2:14 ESV

Isaiah 31:1 ESV says, “ Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the Lord!”

That God sent the Israelites to Egypt for help from famine does not mean they had to rely on Egypt for help in times of famine. It was strategic.

In Genesis 15:13-14 ESV, the Lord said to Abram, “Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years.” That was why the need for the desert conditions, to purge them of the reliance on Egypt, and rely only on God .

(Exodus 13:17)

Beloved, we are now at peace with God, oneness with the Father. Those troubles we face are not for us to fall back as fearful slaves, rather opportunities for us to cry, “Abba! Father!” (Romans 8:15)

The Lord did not promise us a trouble free life, rather He gave us His peace. John 16:33 ESV says, “...that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
