THE ANCIENT FOE IS VANQUISHED OUR TRUE IDENTITY REVEALED

Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

‭Isaiah 53:1 NIV‬

In our catholic church, there is this Eucharistic preface used this holy week, “For the days of his saving Passion and glorious Resurrection are approaching,by which the pride of the ancient foe is vanquished and the mystery of our redemption is celebrated.”

The pride of the ancient foe, Satan is vanquished! A good news indeed.‭‭ Colossians 2:15 NIV‬ says, “And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” I like how the Message translation says it, “He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets.”

This is our joy, the enemy is disarmed, stripped naked of all authorities to accuse us. Psalms 124:7 NIV‬ says, “the snare has been broken, and we have escaped.”

Mary said in her magnificat, “He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.”(‭Luke 1:52 NIV‬)
