HOW TO BEAR FRUIT THAT LAST

“You did not choose me. I chose you. And I gave you this work: to go and produce fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you anything you ask for in my name.

‭‭John‬ ‭15:16‬ ‭ERV‬‬

The Lord chose the sun and gave it the work to rule by the day and it does till today. The same way, He gave us the work of producing fruit that will last and we do. Our life might seem not to be reflecting this because we did not choose Him, but it definitely reflects the mind of the one who chose us.

OUR part as branches is to abide: we are like those of the parable of the sower that either produce fruit or are choked by the cares and worries of this life. The Lord gave us great tip: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:23‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

By denying ourselves, we are accepting that we are dead to all that can come between us and Jesus. ‭‭In John‬ ‭12:24‬ ‭ERV‬‬, the Lord said, “It is a fact that a grain of wheat must fall to the ground and die before it can grow and produce much more wheat. If it never dies, it will never be more than a single seed.” This way we carry our cross daily not by sight for we are dead to the world, but rather by faith in Him, aligning our thoughts with His thoughts that He has overcome. That is how we produce fruit unconsciously!
