WAIT JOYFULLY ON THE LORD III

For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

Romans 8:29 ESV

While waiting on the Lord, set eyes on His ways rather than on His deeds. Psalms 103:7 NKJV says, “He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.” God's ways are higher than our ways, walk in His ways and be magnified above all circumstances.

Many wait on the Lord for Him to answer in a certain way and time. Many go from place to another looking for miracles, and only give thanks when they are received. That should not be the case for a child of God who has crossed from death to life. Instead of making God an ATM machine, we should spend time waiting, learning His ways, giving Him thanks and praises for His goodness and loving-kindness.

Waiting involves letting go of our understanding and focusing on His ways, which are different from ours. If we know that we are dead to sin and alive to God , we wait with joy. That is why waiting is transforming, for it helps to clear our mind of the old so as to partake in the new. Our mindset determines our way of living. No wonder the Psalmist says, “my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.” (Psalm 130:6 ESV) He has the mindset that the Lord must answer the same way morning comes at its proper time.
