wait for the Lord; my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope.
Psalms 130:5 MEV
Waiting on the Lord is a good experience for children of God, for it gives us an opportunity to know Him the more. Psalm 34:8 GNT says, “ Find out for yourself how good the Lord is. Happy are those who find safety with him.” The Easy to read version (ERV)says, “Give the Lord a chance to show you how good he is. Great blessings belong to those who depend on him!”( Psalms 34:8 ERV)
The Psalmist in our theme verse says how he waits on the Lord, “I wait for the Lord; my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope.” He actively aligns his minds and hearts with His words. We do not wait on the Lord, and our mind is somewhere else. If we are waiting on the Lord for our healing, finances or any trials, let us learn to wait with our minds stayed on Him. Isaiah 26:3 ESV says, “ You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”
Think of how you look forward to picking up your 2 year old child from school, for you know that the child cannot get home without you and the child's mind is completely on you. In the same way , the Lord knows that we are just His branches and cannot do anything without Him. Hence cannot abandon us. We should wait on the Lord as our only Lord and Savior. Psalms 42:1 NIV says, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.”
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO WAIT PATIENTLY FOR OUR THE LORD IN ALL TRIALS IN JESUS NAME AMEN
THANK YOU JESUS!
