I waited and waited and waited some more, patiently, knowing God would come through for me. Then, at last, he bent down and listened to my cry.
Psalms 40:1 TPT
It is hard to wait on the Lord with expectancy, without meditating on His words. For the Lord is Spirit and we need the hope that comes from His words and not our natural circumstances to live on. We should give him the chance to show us that He is God. Romans 15:4 TPT says, “Whatever was written beforehand is meant to instruct us in how to live. The Scriptures impart to us encouragement and inspiration so that we can live in hope and endure all things.”
The Psalmist says, “This is why I wait upon you, expecting your breakthrough, for your Word brings me hope. I long for you more than any watchman would long for the morning light. I will watch and wait for you, O God, throughout the night. O Israel, keep hoping, keep trusting, and keep waiting on the Lord, for he is tenderhearted, kind, and forgiving. He has a thousand ways to set you free! He himself will redeem you; he will ransom you from the cruel slavery of your sins!”
(Psalms 130:5-8 TPT)
Notice that the Psalmist said that the word brings hope and he will continue to wait, for He knows through the word that the Lord is tenderhearted, kind, and forgiving. He has a thousand ways to set us free! He himself will redeem us; he will ransom us from the cruel slavery of our sins. Such knowledge is enough to impart in us new strength to wait in joyful expectancy.
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO WAIT FOR THE LORD IN JOYFUL EXPECTANCY IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
