WALK IN LOVE

Now we’re no longer living like slaves under the law, but we enjoy being God’s very own sons and daughters! And because we’re his, we can access everything our Father has—for we are heirs because of what God has done!

Galatians 4:7 TPT

One of the things that prevents us from walking in joy and love for one another is the slave mentality. Slaves struggle for everything as well as to please their taskmaster and avoid punishment, hence they walk in fear and not in love. But we are no longer slaves, we are God's own children. We have access to all the Father has, not because of our struggles but because of what God has done! How can we live in hatred and sadness?

Think of your high school dormitory days, where things are limited. You compete with one another for food, space, grades etc. But once out of high school you are not limited by those anymore hence you see one another differently. We can only walk in love and joy if we lose our slave mentality and live as children of God, as those who have crossed from death to life.

1 John 3:14 NLT says, “If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead.” So to walk in love, we have to live in the mindset that we are no longer in the realm of death, where we compete with one another for limited resources, we live in the realm of life where we all have access to all God has!
