knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

Romans 6:6 NKJV

You know how someone goes on vacation and leaves an auto response message. Anytime you send a message it replies to you immediately as if the person is still in the office. Our theme tells us that our old sinful self that dominated us producing all sorts of sinful desires and distresses in our lives is dead. However it left this auto response message that has not been deleted, the body of sin, the flesh.

That is why today, we might still experience some sinful thoughts and desires. We might even experience a roller coaster kind of life in our health, finances, marriages etc. However, let us not accept this dictates of the flesh for we are dead to sin. Romans 8:12 NKJV says, “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.”

That we experience the dictates of the flesh does not condemn us, rather, accepting It's dictates does. “Romans 8:13 ESV says, “For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live” We put to death the deeds of the flesh by renewing our minds with the word of God. His Words are Spirit and life.

No wonder Galatians 5:16 NKJV says,“ Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO WALK IN THE SPIRIT IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

THANK YOU JESUS!
