WATCH IN JOYFUL HOPE

And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

Is Christ your source of joy or have you made your haves and have-nots your joy.

In Luke 1:47 ERV Mary rejoiced simply because God is her Savior, “I am very happy because God is my Savior.” Such joy, a fruit of the Spirit, is only gotten from feeding on God's words. God's words are spirit and life, and Mary is known for feeding on God's words.

This is why the Lord said in John 17:13 ESV, “.. and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.” 1 John 3:2-3 ESV says, “Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.”

Such is enough to make us joyful, imagine that we are God's children now, even though our earthly circumstances might not reflect it. But definitely we shall be like Him when He appears! This is not about our performance, but simply a joyful hope that purifies us as He is pure!

Beloved, stand strong in His joy. True joy is found in His presence. (Psalms 16:11) His joy is our strength, for without it, we cannot draw water from the wells of salvation.
