WE ARE CITIES ON A MOUNTAIN TOP II

In the mountains of Judah he built cities, and in the forests he built forts and towers.

2 Chronicles 27:4 GNT‬

“No one lights a lamp and covers it with a bowl or puts it under a bed. Instead, it is put on the lampstand, so that people will see the light as they come in.”(‭Luke 8:16 GNT‬) My friend's 3 year old son came to my house, I gave him a flashlight, he turned off every light in the house so that his light will be visible to all.

That we are in a fallen and dark world as it is today, should not be something to be worried about, instead it should be a joyful moment for us to shine our light to the world to see and glorify God. For our light shines in the darkness. Just as the 3 year old upon receiving the flashlight, was so excited, turning off all the lights so his light could be seen. In the same way, we should count it all joy when we walk through valleys of darkness for it is an opportunity to shine our light.

Remember, that we are cities on a mountain top suggests that we are already shining our lights. For “No one lights a lamp and covers it with a bowl or puts it under a bed. Instead, it is put on the lampstand, so that people will see the light as they come in”. And our light shines in the darkness and darkness cannot overcome it. (John 1:5)
