And the Lord appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; dwell in the land of which I shall tell you.
Genesis 26:2 ESV
In the previous devotional, I mentioned that famines represent weaknesses we go through in our health and wellbeing, finances, marriages etc. They entered our lives because of the sin of Adam. But where sin increases, grace outweighs it making the power of God mighty through righteousness.
The sweetest part is that not only is the power of God mighty for increase during famine, It also makes sure we are not broken by the famine, that is the peace of God. Psalm 34:18-20 ESV says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.”
Let us not fret when we face trials, for grace and peace overflows during trials.
Psalm 46:10 ESV says “Be still, and know that I am God.” Knowledge of who God is and His track record positions us to be still in trials and witness His grace and peace overflow. 2 Peter 1:2 ESV says, “May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.”
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO BE COURAGEOUS IN ALL TRIALS IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
