Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and the children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard afar off.

‭‭Nehemiah 12:43 NKJV‬‬

We should be rejoicing because the Lord has made us rejoice with great joy! He has made us heirs of His joy. “And the angel said to them, “Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people;” (‭Luke 2:10 RSV-C‬) This joy is our strength because it is rooted in what the Lord has done to save us and not what we can do to save ourselves.

The joy that we obtained remission of sin not by our merits but by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ is enough empowerment for good works. ‭Psalms 32:1 NLT‬ says, “Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight!” Sin put out of sight is sickness and distress put out of sight. For “ No one living in Zion will say, “I am ill”; and the sins of those who dwell there will be forgiven.”

Let us receive this joy of the Lord that transcends human understanding with all our heart irrespective of our earthly circumstances .No wonder ‭Isaiah 35:10 says, ”And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”

WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO STAND STRONG IN THE JOY OF THE LORD, THE ANCHOR OF OUR STRENGTH IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

THANK YOU JESUS!
