When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
James 4:3 NIV
Are you living for the right motive, His purpose for saving you? Many struggle with receiving from the Lord, for they are not living for the right motive. 1 John 5:14-15 NIV says, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”
God delivered the Israelites so they can worship Him. In Exodus 3:18 CEV, He said to Moses, “The leaders of Israel will listen to you. Then you must take them to the king of Egypt and say, “The Lord God of the Hebrews has appeared to us. Let us walk three days into the desert, where we can offer a sacrifice to him.” In another place God said to Moses, “I will be with you. And you will know that I am the one who sent you, when you worship me on this mountain after you have led my people out of Egypt.” (Exodus 3:12 CEV)
Just as the Israelites in the Bible, God saved us to worship Him in holiness and righteousness. Zechariah said about it, “ to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.” (Luke 74-75 NIV)
Just as God did not want the Israelites to worship Him as slaves in Egypt. So also, He does not want us to worship Him as slaves, but as kings. No wonder we are His royal priests, a Holy nation.1 Peter 2:5 NIV says, “you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO WORSHIP GOD IN HOLINESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS ALL THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES, IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
