wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Psalms 130:6 NIV
Psalm 130 is a good psalm to meditate on especially in this age that is filled with unbelief. Think of how the watchmen wait in confident hope because morning will come, the Psalmist in our theme verse is saying that he waits for the Lord more than they wait. Why ?
Firstly, he said, “If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?(Psalms 130:3 NIV) Sin is the only thing that separates us from God, and God does not keep record of it anymore. He does not even remember our sins anymore.( Hebrews 8:12) Psalms 103:12 NIV says, “as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
Then he said,” Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.”(Psalms 130:7-8 NIV)
In our catholic community, when we sing the Glory in the highest , we say about Jesus, “ for you alone are the Lord.” In Latin , “ Tu solus Dominus” He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the whole world. He is the only one authorized to forgive sins on earth. 1 John 2:2 NIV says about Him,”He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.”
Beloved, I don't know the sin that the enemy is using to condemn you today, loading you with guilt and sin consciousness. Just come boldly to Jesus, for “we all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6 NIV) And, If the Son of Man sets you free you are free indeed.
WE PRAY FOR THE GRACE TO LIVE IN CONFIDENT HOPE ON THE LORD IN JESUS NAME AMEN!
THANK YOU JESUS!
