WE RESEMBLE GOD

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

-1 John‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has chosen us as His children. Ponder this: “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God”

By baptism, we are spiritually born of God, and all the attributes of the beatitudes such as; meekness, poor in spirit, hunger and thirst for righteousness, peacemakers etc, are all in our spirits. We are born with them. How?

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31:33‬ ‭NIV‬‬ says “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts" in another place He said, "And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.‭‭" (Ezekiel‬ ‭36:26‭-‬27‬)

That is why we are called as blessed children of God, to know Him. That is eternal. In ‭‭John‬ ‭17:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬, the Lord said "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." The way to know Him it is to keep hearing His word, they are spirit and life. It has the power to impart in us both the desire and the ability to live in this newness of life!
